Coronation Street's Jack Shepherd engaged! David Platt star pops the question to Hanni Treweek
Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd, known for playing David Platt on the soap, has proposed to his girlfriend Hanni Treweek.
Sharing the news to social media, Hanni shared a stunning selfie of the couple and wrote: "05.06.24 I said YES to forever!!!" as stars such as Michelle Keegan shared their congratulations.
The Fool Me Once actress wrote: "Awww congratulations to you both", while co-star Alan Halsall said: "Congratulations to the pair of you xx."
Actress Julia Goulding commented: "Such beautiful news! Congratulations to you both, absolutely perfect couple." And co-star Samia Longchambon gushed: "Ahhh amazing news guys! Huge congratulations."
The newly engaged couple shared an intimate snap in one photo, with Hanni flashing her stunning diamond ring as her hand was tentatively placed on her future husband's arm.
The second snap, to announce their news, saw Jack and Hanni with their arms around each other as they beamed at the camera.
They appeared to be on a safari trip in Africa at the time of the engagement as they shared a glimpse of their background and donned beige shirts, while Hanni completed the look with a hat.
Their engagement comes as the loved-up pair have been spending a lengthy time exploring Africa since the beginning of June.
Jack has shared a series of snaps of their adventures so far, including the various safaris they've ventured on where they spotted lions, elephants and giraffes.
During an evening in Zanzibar, they went on a boat trip to take in the sunset and shared a kiss on board, just days before announcing their engagement.
Jack, who has played David Platt in Coronation Street since 2000, met Hanni when she worked in the script department of the ITV soap and the pair began dating in 2017.
Before meeting Hanni, the actor was with Lauren Shippey for 16 years and they share two children, Nyla and Reuben - Jack also has one child, Greyson, from another relationship.
Jack and Hanni fell in love quickly but took things slowly for the sake of the actor’s children: "We were together for about a year before they met. You don’t want to introduce a new partner to small children too soon,” Jack previously told OK!
The pair previously said they were on the same page about starting a family of their own one day, with Hanni holding a close relationship with his children from previous relationships.
