Coronation Street's Ellie Leach opens up on friendship with Strictly co-star
Former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach was announced as part of Strictly Come Dancing's 2023 cast over the last week, and has opened up about how she's already got a friendship with one of the other celebrities.
Appearing on BBC Breakfast to talk about the show, Ellie said that she knows Emmerdale and Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas through his brother Ryan Thomas, who was in Corrie.
"I know Adam, I'm really excited to see him again because I've not seem him for a while," she said, calling his presence "a little piece of home".

Speaking more generally about the show, Ellie said: "I'm so excited, I'm getting a bit nervous now it's getting nearer to the time."
Adam himself revealed this week that he has been battling an autoimmune disease all year, and has joined Strictly in order to test himself and get in better physical shape "with a smile on my face".
"I've been in a lot of pain since January, it started with my knees and then travelled to my wrists, fingers and now ankles and toe," he explained.

"I just want to be able to move again, get fit and do it all with a smile on my face! [Strictly] really couldn't have come at a better time. I'm a firm believer of everything happening for a reason, and I know the journey I've been on was meant to happen, to never take small things in life for granted!
"I know it's going to be tough and I've definitely got my work cut out but am up for the challenge and can not wait to get on that dance floor!!"
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
