The 27-year-old interior designer announced two new projects in central Edmonton. Here's what we know so far.
Lauren Kyle McDavid is preparing for a busy 2025. On Monday, the interior designer, who recently tied the knot with Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, took to Instagram to soft launch two new business ventures: Bar Trove and Trove Living. The 27-year-old shared a set of photos to social media, including a photo of herself posing in front of the Canadian Permanent Building, a historic building from 1910 located in central Edmonton.
“New business venture well in the works… coming soon, Edmonton,” Kyle McDavid captioned her post, which included photos of the building’s exterior as well as interior design plans. The branding for her latest projects includes the slogan, "Curating timeless elegance."
New social media accounts for both Bar Trove and Trove Living were also created. No further details have been provided aside from an opening date of Spring 2025.
The announcement earned praise from Kyle McDavid's friends and followers, including Celeste Desjardins, fiancée of Edmonton Oilers player Leon Draisaitl.
"I cannot wait," Desjardins wrote.
"So glad to see this building finally being occupied again," a follower said. "Such a classic."
"Lauren Kyle [McDavid] finding ways to make Edmonton even better!" another added.
Kyle has owned her own interior design firm, Kyle and Co. Design Studio since 2019. In an interview with The Design Society, the Toronto native described her style as "as Modern sleekness with a touch of classical warmth."
Aside from her latest projects and career as a designer, Kyle McDavid recently launched a limited capsule collection of apparel, Sports Club Atelier, inspired by her husband's NHL team.
"Each piece is designed with vintage-inspired colours and flair, evoking the energy and unity of campus life while adding a touch of effortless elegance," the collection's website reads. "These are not just clothes; they’re wearable sports memorabilia—crafted with enduring quality to become heirlooms, passed down through generations as symbols of resilience, achievement and personal style."
Kyle McDavid and husband Connor wed in July 2024 at Old Woman Island in Muskoka. In an interview with Vogue Australia, Kyle McDavid shared details of their nuptials, including the NHL player's memorable vows.
"He is usually more reserved and quiet about his emotions but his vows were so emotional and heartfelt—it was really special to share that in front of all of our friends and family,” she said.
After their ceremony, the couple shared a private moment before a night of dinner and dancing with their closest family and friends.
"Connor and I took a victory lap around the island on a vintage wooden boat; it was so nice to have a moment together; appreciate where we were, and all of the people who showed up to support us," Kyle McDavid said. "We got to really relish in the moment.”
