Go For: Relaxation
Good Times: For a fly-and-flop girls' trip where you rarely leave the resort, look no further than the newish JW Marriott Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, which has multi-bedroom residences that sleep up to eight guests. With an Aperol Spritz in hand, reminiscing about your high-school shenanigans under beach umbrellas on a stunning private stretch of shoreline. If you live in New York City, Boston, Chicago or another larger city, you'll fly into Tampa International Airport, which is about 10 minutes further away.
Nashville, Tennessee
Go For: The live music and fun atmosphere
Good Times: "Music just hits different in this town whether you walk into a corner bar and listen to the person performing or buy a ticket to the Grand Ole Opry stage," says a Good Housekeeping reader from Nashville. One of her favorite spots is The Listening Room Cafe, which showcases up-and-coming performers during lunch and dinner. For your squad's shopping fix, she recommends a neighborhood known as 12South; it has one of the few brick-and-mortar locations of Draper James and Love Shack Fancy, plus many independent boutiques and restaurants. "There's something for every taste, every style and at any time of the day," she says. Studio Two King rooms at the Noelle Nashville are the perfect home base for a party of four. Located downtown near the legendary Ryman Auditorium (another amazing concert venue), the property has a hidden speakeasy and a restaurant from celeb chef Richard Sandoval.

Newport, Rhode Island
Go For: Sailing
Good Times: Pile in a yacht that sailed in the America's Cup to embark on a racing adventure of your own. America's Cup Charters assigns each passenger a position on the yacht and allows them to practice their task before going head-to-head with another vessel. Whether or not your squad won bragging rights, "the experience is unforgettable," says a Good Housekeeping reader. Good Times: Check into Carneros Resort and Spa, a stunning home base for your Napa adventures. But since you are in Napa, you need to get out to a couple of wineries and see the gems for yourself. Getting There: The closest major airport to Napa Valley is Oakland International. If you can get a direct flight there from your hometown (Atlanta, Denver and Austin are among the cities with nonstop service), go that route. San Francisco International Airport is a smidge further and way more crowded than Oakland, but for a direct flight, it's worth it. From either spot, you can rent a car and drive about 90 minutes north to Napa or take a rideshare.
Savannah, Georgia
Go For: Southern hospitality and ghosts!
Good Times: Copy a Good Housekeeping reader who recently went to Savannah to celebrate her 40th birthday with her elementary school besties. They stayed in a vacation rental in the historic district along a cobblestone street and not far from stunning manicured gardens. "We started out with a hop on/hop off bus tour to get a feel for the city and determine what we wanted to explore the next day," she says. "That's how we found The Olde Pink House, a charming restaurant!" She also recommends the "vintage chic" Little Duck Diner and a night-time ghost tour because Savannah is known as "America's most haunted city." Or you could try a ghost tour and pub crawl combo!
Getting There: Fly into Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, about 10 miles from the city's historic district. Austin, Texas
Go For: The barbecue (yes, that's reason enough!)

Good Times: Even the most cynical New Yorker will admit that the city is magical during the holiday season and, any time of year, there's a tremendous variety of things to see and do, from Broadway shows to the Sex in the City Hotspots walking tour! If NYC during the holidays is on your friends' bucket lists, consider visiting the week after Thanksgiving, which tends to be a little less crowded than later in December. All the holiday markets will be in full swing, you can see the tree at Rockefeller Center and have eggnog cocktails at the Insta-famous Rolf’s German Restaurant (book way ahead!) If you don't have your hearts set on holiday happenings, September is the sweet spot for a visit thanks to lower crowds and Broadway Week. You may be able to nab two seats for the price of one for performances from September 2 to 14, 2025; tickets go on sale in August. For your hotel, look into The Benjamin Royal Sonesta New York. Getting There: If you're staying in midtown Manhattan, LaGuardia Airport will likely be the most convenient airport for your flight. But if you can score significantly better airfare flying into Newark or JFK, do it—you'll just split the bit extra cost of rideshare into town. Insider tip: An often overlooked option to get from Newark to NYC (and back again) is the NJ Transit Express Bus. For less than $40 per person roundtrip, it will whisk you from the airport to one of three NYC stops, including Bryant Park.

Scottsdale, Arizona
Go For: Spa-Hopping!
Good Times: Experiencing three or four spas on a long weekend trip to Scottsdale is a thing, and we're here for it. In between, browse the artsy boutiques in the Old Town neighborhood and toast your friendship at one of its eight wine-tasting rooms. Washington, DC
Go For: Cherry blossoms
Good Times: The pink beauties are anticipated to reach peak bloom from March 28-31, 2025, according to the National Park Service. So, for a trip this year, you'll have to spring into action. While many cherry trees are in the Tidal Basin, girl groups may have the most fun overall staying about 10 minutes away in the vibrant Georgetown neighborhood and taking a rideshare to see the blooms. You could split the cost of an exquisitely decorated historic townhouse at the Rosewood Washington D.C., which is in the heart of shops and restaurants. A less expensive yet still roomy option is a two-bedroom apartment at Sonder Georgetown C&O.
Getting There: Fly into Washington Dulles International Airport, or, better still, if you live in the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic, look into train service on Amtrak. Good Times: It's hard to pinpoint the vibe in Palm Springs—picture kitschy elements (selfies with massive steel-and-concrete dino statues) and midcentury architectural treasures set against a desert backdrop. It all adds up to an epic girls' getaway, trust! Book one of the many charming hotels with a pool so you and your girlfriends can lounge outside with mimosas in hand. Good Times: Colonial character meets New England countryside in this charming Green Mountains town known for its stunning fall foliage. Late September or early October usually is the prime time for peak color. Stay at The Woodstock Inn & Resort, which is set against the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Hop on one of the hiking trails (there are 20 miles worth) while Mother Nature is showing off. Then wind down from your workout at the resort's on-site spa, featuring treatments like an espresso mud body scrub. Drive out to the original Vermont Country Store in Weston for more leaf-peeping. "My friend and I can spend an hour there exploring all the products from way back when, like our favorite childhood candy," says a Good Housekeeping editor. Getting There: The closest airport in Lebanon, New Hampshire, has direct flights to Boston and White Plains, New York. But, if you want to rent a car anyway, it's probably easier to fly into Boston and drive about three hours or so to Woodstock, taking in the foliage along the way.

Malibu, California
Go For: Surf vibes
Good Times Luxury meets the beach on a Malibu girls' trip. Rent an oceanfront property or stay a The Surfrider Hotel, a boutique spot with stand-up paddleboards, surfboards and other beach gear that you can borrow. Las Vegas, Nevada
Go For: The nightlife
Good Times: If you want to re-capture your college days of partying way past midnight, go to Vegas, baby! Nightclubs typically stay open until the wee hours of the morning, and many popular resorts (like the Park MGM Las Vegas and Resorts World Las Vegas) have one right on the premises. Sleep in late and then get your crew over to the Sphere, which is probably the coolest attraction in town now. Grab dinner at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés—he's the chef behind World Central Kitchen, the charity that helps feed people in disasters.
Getting There: Fly into Harry Reid International Airport and grab a rideshare to your hotel. The hotels on the Vegas strip are less than three miles from the airport.
Seattle, Washington
Go for: Unique attractions, an epic market and coffee
Good Times: Check into the Thompson Seattle for its stunning water views and rooftop bar that locals love. Then, walk a couple of blocks downhill to Pike Place Market to see the first Starbucks, watch the fish throwing (yes, it's a thing!), and sample some of the many delectable offerings at this foodie mecca. You'll need at least a couple of hours to get through it all. The next day, head to a trio of quirky attractions that are next to each other—the Space Needle, the Museum of Pop Culture and Chihuly Garden and Glass. Make a reservation to eat at The Loupe in the Space Needle—craft cocktails and a culinary tower are part of the experience. The next day, take a 45-minute ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, a fun place to taste wine and shop.
Getting There: Fly into the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which offers nonstop flights to 94 U.S. cities. But be sure to book early because Seattle is a popular port for Alaskan cruises from May to September. It's about 20 minutes from the airport to downtown Seattle.
Cape May, New Jersey

Good Times: Just a few hours driving from Manhattan, Cape May is an easy place to escape the madness of city life. The seaside town is located at the southernmost tip of the Jersey Shore but the whimsical charm will make you feel like you're walking through the pages of a Victorian-era storybook. Stay at Beach Plum Farm for a cozy and unique experience. The 62-acre property has five cottages that you can choose to rent during your stay. Guests get their own personal golf carts to use throughout their trip and love the attention to detail provided by staff members, like having fresh doughnuts and coffee delivered to the porch each morning. But now that you're no longer a broke college student, you can afford to dine at one of the city's many supper clubs. "The Harvey House is a fun, fancier place, and the Tornado Club Steakhouse is the more traditional supper club by the capital," says Madison resident Erin Gleeson, author of the popular Forest Feast cookbook series. Cute Indie stores and bookshops line the streets. On Saturdays from April 12 to November 8, don't miss the farmers' market on the square near the Capitol.
Getting There: The Dane County Regional Airport in Madison offers a small number of nonstop flights from about 20 U.S. cities, including Atlanta and Miami. You might find better prices and schedules flying into one of the Chicago airports and renting a car for the two-hour drive to Madison.

Good Times: Chicago offers something for each girl in your group, leaving everyone satisfied after their trip. Theatre buffs can see a Broadway show, museum-goers will relish the Art Institute of Chicago and shoppers can explore the stores along The Magnificent Mile. Fresh from a glow-up, the Hyatt Regency Chicago— right on the Chicago Riverwalk– is a convenient home base. Nearby, 360 Chicago is a trendy place to enjoy a craft cocktail while taking in the city's views from 1,000 feet up.

A great first stop is Portland's House of Vintage in the city's Hawthorne neighborhood. Your group could spend hours scouring the massive market that features items from 60 vendors. "Cute lunch spots have popped up between all the vintage shops so you can re-fuel and shop some more," says a Good Housekeeping editor.

You might be tempted to book a vacation rental to save money "but one of my friends who recently went that route lamented that it turned out to be almost the same cost," she notes. "We rented a 4-bedroom condo, which was great because we had a kitchen, a living room to hang out in and drink wine and play board games, but we had all the benefits of a resort, including beaches and pools," says a Good Housekeeping editor who recently visited. "We walked on the beach every morning." One day, they drove about a half-hour to King Street in downtown Charleston, admiring all the shops and cafes. "For dinner, we all enjoyed The Ordinary, a creative seafood restaurant that was located in a historic bank building."
