Colman Domingo Confirms That 'Euphoria' Season 3 Starts Filming This Month
It's been a big week for the Euphoria-verse. Hot on the heels of Zendaya soft launching her engagement to Tom Holland at the Golden Globes comes the news that the long-awaited third season of the hit HBO series is finally set to start filming this month.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at Sunday night's Golden Globes, Colman Domingo, who plays Ali Muhammed, a recovering drug addict, confirmed that production is about to get underway. 'I'm ready to get back to work. Sam's ready to get back to work. Zendaya's ready to get back to work, and Sydney and Jacob. Everybody's really excited. It's been a long time, but I feel like the band is back together again,' he told the outlet.

'Good things, you have to wait for them,' he added, 'You have to let it marinate. You gotta let it simmer.'
Euphoria, which debuted in 2019, has been plagued by will-they-won't-they rumours of its return after production on the third season was halted due to the writer's strikes. Because of various other setbacks, the release has now been has pushed back to 2026, which will be four years after its third season was confirmed by HBO.
Domingo, who also teased the upcoming third season on a recent episode of Jessie and Leni Ware's podcast Table Manners, isn't the only member of the cast to have touched upon Euphoria's third season in recent months. In a December 2024 interview, Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard, suggested that filming would begin shortly. In an interview with MTV to promote her film Immaculate, Sweeney was asked about her plans once the press tour is over.
'You’re going to take a little time off after all this madness?' the host asked, to which Sydney quickly responded: 'I go into Euphoria.'
In another interview with GQ just a matter of days after, which confirmed that the third season will begin filming in either April and May 2024, Sweeney elaborated further. 'People will be really amazed with what season three becomes,' she told the outlet, confirming that the upcoming season marks a change for the show. 'I think that’s good because seasons one and two were so different,' she said.
The uncertainty surrounding Euphoria's third season was further compounded by rumours suggesting that HBO were 'not happy with the way production was proceeding.' In the March 28 episode of Deux U, DeuxMoi reported that somebody had informed them that the platform would rather delay production on the third season to ensure that it meets its standards of conduct than let it proceed as it currently is.
