Yes it’s coffee, in a cone. We are all slightly bemused, yet also very intrigued about the latest food craze.
We’re not too sure how South Africa barista, Dayne Levinrad, thought of this creation but coffee fanatics everywhere are glad he did. After all coffee, chocolate and a ice cream cone seem like a winning combination - right?

We’re just slightly anxious about ‘#coffeeinacone’ as it brings back the horrible ice cream memories of basically every summer. Where rapidly melting ice cream, along with a less than supportive cone, leaves more on our lap than in our mouth. Therefore, it poses the question, how on earth does liquid stay in it!?
Dayne and his team have magically sorted this issue by creating their own cones with four different types of chocolate compounds that manages to keep the liquid in place. Still sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to us…
They do suggest you drink the coffee within a 10 minute time frame before the chocolate inevitably melts and the cone starts to go soggy.
So, maybe it’s not ideal for a relaxed Sunday morning beverage. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t desperate to try it. With coffee in a cone now being created all around the world maybe we’ll be able to try one soon.
