S Club star Hannah Spearritt is reportedly in contact with lawyers, following her sudden exit from the band's upcoming reunion tour.

Last month, in the wake of Paul Cattermole's tragic passing, S Club took to social media to announce a rebrand. As well as revealing their band name change, the group shared that Spearritt – who dated Cattermole for several years – will no longer be joining them on their 25th anniversary reunion tour, although they didn't give an official reason for this.

"You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour," Jo O’Meara said. "We wish her all the best for the future. However, the five of us are really excited and geared up to crack on."

Now, a month on from the announcement, the Mail Online claims that Spearritt's departure from the group is still 'shrouded in mystery', and reports that she has hired lawyers to help renegotiate her contract as resolution chats have become "tricky".

"It is a shame that it has got to the point where Hannah has had to get lawyers," an insider told the publication.

Previously speaking to The Sun about Cattermole's death, Spearritt said: "It’s still so raw and I have these moments where I don’t quite believe that it’s real. I still can’t believe I will never see him again."

She went on, "I’m trying my best to hold it together but once I start, I can’t stop crying."

Our thoughts are with Cattermole's loved ones at this emotional time.
