Claudia Winkleman is back at the helm of One Question for its second season, but she's been scolded by bosses for trying to give contestants a nudge in the right direction.

The Channel 4 quiz show is making an imminent comeback, with pairs vying for a whopping £100k prize by answering just one question from a selection of possible answers – they just need to nail the right one.

During its inaugural run in 2022, Claudia Winkleman couldn't help but assist the players, and it seems she hasn't quite kicked the habit for the new season. "I really want to help them," admits the One Question presenter, 53.

The production team has had to step in. "No one trusts me," she quips. "When we did one of the run throughs and I knew the answer, the bosses said ‘Stop winking and making strange noises.’"

Measures have been ramped up to prevent any potential slip-ups this time round: "They don’t give me the questions, and certainly not the answers, before we’re in the studio," says the Strictly host.

For the first time ever, a live audience will be part of the show, and they're proving more tight-lipped than Claudia. "They’re very good. There are no coughs," she notes.

While Claudia fancies the idea of being a contestant, she insists she'd only do so with "someone smarter" by her side, like her film producer hubby Kris Thykier. The couple, who tied the knot in 2000, are proud parents to three children: Jake, Matilda, and Arthur.

Claudia is buzzing to make her comeback as the host, confessing that the quiz show "holds a special place in my heart because of its simplicity." Yet, she's quick to point out that it's far from straightforward for contestants, explaining: "There might only be one question, but it isn’t an easy question," and notes, "It’s difficult. You either know it or you don’t."

Letting slip about an emotional victory on the horizon, Claudia spills that her connection to the game runs deep. "I can’t give you any details, but I did cry," she says, revealing how the tearjerker moment had everyone in the studio hooked – a true sign it's top telly gold.

Riding high on the success of The Traitors' third season, Claudia notched up her very first BAFTA for helming the BBC program. Meanwhile, her other gig on Channel 4, The Piano, clinched a BAFTA nomination and is on its third series.

As if this wasn't enough, Claudia also co-hosts Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, and they brought the sparkle for the dance show's 20-year TV anniversary last December.

Clearly delighted by her current line-up, Claudia gushes: "I’m not doing anything else." She adds: "I’m incredibly grateful. I love Strictly, I love The Traitors, I love The Piano, I love One Question and you won’t see me doing anything else."
