City of Valdosta hosts successful inaugural Paint in the Park event
Apr. 18—VALDOSTA — The City of Valdosta's Neighborhood Development Department hosted its inaugural Paint in the Park event April 13 at Unity Park. The event brought together members of the community for a delightful day filled with creativity, sunshine, and camaraderie.
Residents and visitors alike gathered at the picturesque park to unleash their artistic talents and add splashes of color to the canvas of the neighborhood, the city said in a press release. From families with children to seasoned artists, everyone found joy in expressing themselves through the medium of paint.
"We are thrilled by the overwhelming turnout and enthusiasm we witnessed at Paint in the Park," said Anetra Riley, Neighborhood Development and Community Protection Manager. "It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together to celebrate art, creativity, and connection."
Attendees were treated to a day of painting amid the beauty of nature, accompanied by music, refreshments, and the warmth of the spring sun. The event provided a unique opportunity for neighbors to bond, share stories, and forge new friendships, strengthening the fabric of the close-knit community, the city said.
