Chrissy Teigen has shared a photograph of herself, in which she candidly opens up about still having a visible bump some months after the loss of her baby son, Jack, during pregnancy.

On September 30, Chrissy and her husband John Legend shared the heartbreaking news that they'd lost their baby boy at around 20 weeks. Chrissy shared a series of black and white photos taken with Jack in the hospital, writing in a heartbreaking caption, "We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before."

Now, almost three months after the family's terrible loss, the cookbook author gave an insight into the constant reminder of her grief every time she looks in the mirror. Sharing a mirror selfie on Instagram, Chrissy wrote: "This is me and my body, just yesterday. Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been."

She went on to explain that she has "no idea why I still have this bump," and described the feeling as "frustrating". But in the next breath, Chrissy showed her strength and positivity, focussing on what she has learned through this unthinkably difficult experience.

"I’m proud of where this entire journey took my body and mind in other ways," she shared with her followers. Adding that she "love[s] being pregnant, so so much," the mother of Luna and Miles revealed she has no plans for any future children following what happened this year.

"I’m sad I never will be [pregnant] again. But I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people more and more every single day."

As usual, Chrissy's brave and honest post will no doubt serve as a pillar of strength to others going through the same thing. Making herself vulnerable by opening up about such personal thoughts and feelings starts a vital conversation around something that has historically been taboo.

Last month, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend opened up abut their grief in an interview with Good Morning America. "I definitely gave myself permission to have complete and utter grief. Every day is different so when people ask me how I'm doing I say 'I'm ok, today'," Chrissy said.

John went on to address the insensitive criticism the couple had received as a result of sharing the images from the hospital from the day they lost Jack. "[Chrissy] felt like really, that one of the ways we would carry on Jack’s memory was taking pictures of that moment.

"The crazy thing about having a miscarriage, is you don’t walk away with anything, you have this emptiness," he explained. "And we wanted to take the photos so that we had something to remember."
