Chris Pratt's stunt double Tony McFarr dies aged 47 as family react to 'shocking' news
Chris Pratt's Guardians of the Galaxy stuntman Tony McFarr has died aged 47.
Tony's mother, Donna, told TMZ that the stuntman passed away on Monday in his home outside Orlando, Florida. She called his passing "unexpected and shocking."
She added that before his death, her son was "happy and healthy" and that medical examiners are now running toxicology reports. The official cause of death is still pending and The Orange County Medical Examiner is doing the report.
Hollywood star Chris worked with Tony on films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World.
Tony began his stunt career in 2011 when he landed a job on TV show, Bones. Later he worked on shows like Teen Wolf and Homeland, as well as hit movies like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Furious 7, Captain America: Civil War, The Accountant and Allegiant.
Chris posted about Tony on his Instagram in 2016, with a snap from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy.
The actor captioned the picture: "Here's me and my stunt-man Tony mcFarr (also Tommy Harper stunts coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you buddy! Happy wrap!"
Chris is yet to comment on Tony's death.
Away from being a stunt double, Tony also had a few acting roles over the years – he had a small part in shows such as Macgyver, Burn Notice and One Tree Hill.
Tony is survived by his daughter, sister, mum and dad.
