The only thing better than a chocolate chip cookie is a chocolate chip cookie that’s three times its normal size. Fans of the iconic Chips Ahoy brand will soon see their chocolate chip cookie dreams come true with soft, supersized versions of the classic Chips Ahoy cookies snack lovers already adore.

Chips Ahoy's New Big Chewy Cookies

This is the brand's biggest version of the chocolate chip cookie to hit shelves since Nabisco introduced Chips Ahoy in 1963, and it’s sure to send cookie fans scrambling to convenience stores for a bite. Available in three varieties, these cookies are not only three times the size of a standard Chips Ahoy cookie but are also loaded with chocolate chips that are four times larger than those in the regular version.

Big Chewy Cookies won’t appear in Chips Ahoy’s signature blue bag, though. Instead, these extra-large cookies will be sold in individually packaged red bags at convenience stores nationwide.

What Are the New Flavors of Chips Ahoy Big Chewy Cookies?

The lineup includes a chocolate chip variety that offers the familiar flavor of its smaller Chips Ahoy counterpart and a brownie variety featuring a brownie base with baked-in chocolate chips. Rounding out the trio is a chocolaty caramel cookie with caramel notes in the batter and rich chocolate chips throughout.

Currently, Chips Ahoy offers its standard-sized cookies in classic, chewy, and chunky varieties, along with flavors like red velvet and candy blast. The brand has even created smaller-sized bites, thin crisps, and a gluten-free version. Big Chewy Cookies, however, are the first of their kind, size-wise, offering a giant sugar fix for fans of the brand.

How Do the Chips Ahoy Big Chewy Cookies Taste?

I tried the original chocolate chip variety of the Big Chewy Cookie and found it soft and chewy, just like Chips Ahoy Chewy, but way bigger. In fact, I split my Big Chewy Cookie with my teenage son, who declared the new treat “really good.”

“It tastes exactly like a normal chewy Chips Ahoy Cookie,” he said, “but it’s better because it’s so much bigger, so it’s like eating a few of them.”

My response? It’s like eating three Chips Ahoy Chewy Cookies, to be exact.

Big Chewy Cookies will begin rolling out to retailers nationwide in October. Each 2.5-ounce pack will retail for $2.29 at convenience stores. This giant, sweet treat is sure to catch your eye on your next snack run, so be on the lookout!
