From Good Housekeeping

From 10am today (Friday 27 March) Chester zoo is opening up to families across the world live via their Facebook Page, with an all day tour that will allow kids and adults alike to meet some favourite furry (and scaly) friends.

As the popular zoo is closed to the public for the foreseeable, they will instead be opening their 'virtual gates', inviting you to: "break up the boredom of being at home and, for the first time ever, enjoy a whole day of animal antics, live from your sofa!"

They listed the day's line up is as follows:

"10:00 👉 Red pandas 🐼
11:00 👉 Rothschild's giraffes 🦒
12:00 👉 Asian elephants 🐘
13:00 👉 Butterflies 🦋
14:00 👉 Sun bears 🐻
14:30 👉 Sumatran tigers 🐅
14:45 👉 Humboldt penguins 🐧
16:00 👉 Aquarium* 🐠
(*Running order may be subject to ever so slight changes... and there may be more surprises throughout the day!)"

The Facebook event for the exciting day tells the public to "Come and join the fun. The animals are waiting... "

Weather you have little ones that will be overjoyed by this, or you yourself could use some creature comforts, it's a heartwarming and educational way to finish the first week of home-schooling.

We can't wait for the penguins!

If your little ones are budding zoologists, the zoo's website also has over 50 activities on all things animals, science and conservation.
