Cheryl 'ready for a new man' as she prepares for music comeback

Cheryl is reportedly ready to start dating again, four years on from her split from One Direction star Liam Payne. The 40-year-old is back in the world of showbiz as she prepares for Girls Aloud's highly anticipated comeback tour.

While the mum of one has been putting her six-year-old son Bear, whom she shares with Liam, first, a source close to the star revealed she is open to looking for love again.

The insider told Closer Magazine: “While Cheryl has loved spending the last few years being a hands-on mum raising Bear, she’s eager to start focusing on herself and her own future – telling pals she’s ready for her comeback both professionally and personally.

“Being back out on the showbiz scene and preparing for the reunion tour has given Cheryl a much-needed confidence boost as well as a reminder of how much she’s missed going out, getting dressed up, and meeting new people.

“She’s excited to swap mum life for pop star life and all that comes with that – heading to after-parties, getting the VIP treatment, wearing sexy outfits, and hopefully meeting a new man as she starts dipping her toe back into the dating scene.”

OK! reached out to Cheryl for comment. For years, the singer was known as 'Cheryl Cole' after tying the knot with her first husband, football star Ashley Cole.

But the pair called it quits after just four years of marriage in 2006 when it emerged that he’d been unfaithful. In 2014, the former XFactor judge wed again, marrying Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini, but the pair got divorced just two years later.

Cheryl later claimed that his “unreasonable behaviour” had caused her so much stress she had rapidly lost weight. In 2015, Cheryl sparked up a romance with Liam Payne, with the pair appearing loved-up despite Cheryl being ten years his senior.

They welcomed son Bear, who was born in February 2016, but they later called it quits. The pair have maintained a co-parenting relationship and friendship since, but while Liam has moved on with influencer girlfriend Kate Cassidy, Cheryl has remained single.

A source told Closer that Cheryl is someone who “quickly falls head over heels in love,” but she’s “learned from her past mistakes and is ready to open up her heart again for a man whom she hopes she can settle down with.”

Over 20 years on from Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, Nicola, and Sarah winning the TV Popstars, Girls Aloud are going back on tour.

Their UK arena tour of the UK and Ireland is kicking off in May and June of 2024, with fans able to make a donation to the Sarah Harding Breast Cancer Appeal when purchasing tickets, in memory of the star who died in 2021.
