Cheryl Cole's rarely-seen son Bear, 7, makes BBC Radio 1 debut with sweet 1-word statement
Cheryl's fans were given an adorable surprise when her son Bear made his Radio 1 debut on Friday, 12 April, with some fans even noticing the seven-year-old had developed a Geordie accent just like his Girls Aloud star mum.
Fellow Geordie Perrie Edwards appeared on the Greg James' Breakfast Show to promote her new single Forget About Us, when she was tasked with calling up her famous friends.
Greg dared the star to ring up A-listers in a game where she had to guess if they were sitting down or standing up. The former Little Mix star, 30, gave Cheryl, 40, a buzz after revealing that the pair like to catch up over the phone regularly.
But Radio One listeners were delighted when instead it was Bear, who Cheryl shares with ex Liam Payne, 30, who answered the call.
Picking up the phone, Bear was heard saying: “Hello, who is this?” to which Perrie asked, “Is this Bear?”
"Yes," he replied before confirming as part of the game that he was sat down, as Perrie cheered for him with enthusiasm.
Cheryl then took over the call, telling host Greg: “Bear is saying, 'It's my first time on radio now everyone knows me'".
Bear then adorably wished Perrie good luck with her new song during the sweet exchange.
Fans took to X to gush over getting to hear the little one, with one person saying: “OMG they just called Cheryl on Radio 1 and Bear picked up and he was so cute!! He has a little Geordie accent.”
“Aww Bear so cute saying good luck Perrie on her music and hearing Cheryl speak too, my two girls from two favourite bands,” gushed another fan.
It comes as Bear's One Direction star dad posting a super rare photo of his son Bear to his social media last month.
The former X Factor star is normally very private about his family life so his fans couldn't get enough of the picture of the youngster.
Liam, 30, shared a snap of of Bear in a bright yellow puffer coat looking at a huge big billboard of Liam that was advertising his new music. Liam captioned the post: "I want to be on a billboard one day Daddy."
Both Cheryl and and Liam have been very private when it comes to their son, and neither of them have ever publicly shared a photograph showing his face.
