Cheryl Cole's beauty secrets

The stunning Geordie lass shares her key hair and skincare essentials

She's the celebrity women in the UK would most like to look like, even though she doesn't 'get' why she's a beauty icon.

And while some of it is, of course, in the genes, Cheryl Cole has opened up about the beauty secrets that keep her looking on top form, from her glossy mane to her celebrated skin.

For hair care, it's all about the weekly mask, apparently.

"I like going slightly lighter in the summer with my hair colour. I’m really good at using weekly hair masks to keep it in good condition," she said in an interview with FeelUnique.com.

"I went away for my birthday and didn’t use a mask as often as I normally would and I really noticed the difference. It’s just something you’ve got to do."

And for that famous volume she recommends blow-drying your hair upside down.

When it comes to skin care, Cheryl has admitted that it's only now she's a little older that she takes as much care of her skin.

She recommends taking off all your make up with a cloth to remove all the traces and says when she has a day off she gives her skin a day off too.

"I’d never wear a full face of make-up if I had the day off, I couldn't think of anything worse!
I love this BB cream [L’Oréal Paris Skin Perfection 5-in-1 Instant Complexion Correcting Beauty Balm] as it has skincare benefits and a subtle tint to it. That and mascara and I’m good to go."

Unsurprisngly as a L’Oréal, Cheryl is a big fan of the brand's new range.

"I’m loving the new Skin Perfection range, especially the Serum and Instant Blur which creates a more even, flawless skin tone. I always apply the serum before bed as that’s when your skin regenerates and repairs."

For keeping trim, Cheryl's a fan of the Tracey Anderson method (as loved by Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow) and avoids fast food, though she does have a cheat day a week. (Though by 'a week' we wonder if she means 'a month'...).

She also mixes up her workouts every 10 days to 'keep her body guessing'.

It seems simple, but if that's all it took, we'd all be Cheryl Coles...
