Channing Tatum And Naomi Ackie Play 'Ask Me Anything'
'We got weird on-set, man,' Channing Tatum, star of recently-released psychological thriller, Blink Twice, jokingly admits in a game of Ask Me Anything. His co-star, BAFTA nominee Naomi Ackie, giggles alongside him as the duo compare notes from their time on the set of Zoë Kravitz's directorial debut.
'Everybody had to come up with their own little dance style,' Tatum explains of filming one memorably 'weird' scene. 'I didn't really want Slater [his character] to know how to dance so I asked one of our producers to dance and he has this thing that he does when he dances, so I stole that.'

Far from just being a fun set to work on, the film marked Tatum and Kravitz's first professional collaboration since they were first romantically linked in 2021. Originally named Pussy Island, Kravitz began work on the film in 2017, adapting it several times as conversations surrounding consent and sexual misconduct – both themes that are explored in the storyline – proliferated. Then, in January 2024, once the film was ready to be released, its name was changed to Blink Twice.
'Interestingly enough, after researching it, women were offended by the word, and women seeing the title were saying, "I don’t want to see that movie," which is part of the reason I wanted to try and use the word, which is trying to reclaim the word, and not make it something that we’re so uncomfortable using,' Kravitz told Entertainment Weekly. 'But we’re not there yet. And I think that’s something I have the responsibility as a filmmaker to listen to. I care about people seeing the film, and I care about how it makes people feel.'
Not that the re-brand has dissuaded Kravitz's fans from supporting her creation. In fact, such a fan is Tatum of his partner's work that the Magic Mike star says he's already seen the film 'well over fifty times.' Ackie has seen it twice, but feels no less enraptured by the finished product. 'We shot this about two and a half years ago,' she says of the film. 'So we had enough of a chance to forget and then re-remember [while watching the film], which was really cool.'

Blink Twice is out in cinemas now.
