If you thought Shannon Singh's dumping on Love Island was brutal, wait til you hear about Channel 4's new dating show, The Love Trap.

The eight-part series, which is hosted by The Masked Singer's Joel Dommett, is set to air later this year and follows, you guessed it, a group of singletons looking for love. The Love Trap is from the makers of Netflix's hit show, Too Hot To Handle, so it's safe to say we can expect a lot of bingeable drama.

"It’s reality TV and a game show all rolled into one and will explore how people form genuine relationships and connections," a source of the show told The Sun, "there are 12 female contestants who, over a series of dates, will try to win the heart of one single man."

"But out of those dozen women, only half of them are genuine," the source added, "the single man is tasked with working out who really wants to date him and who just wants the big cash prize."

Here's where it gets, err, brutal. "Each of the female contestants will be going all out to prove they are genuine," said the source, "and the man will then dump whoever he thinks is trying to con him – through the Love Trap." Yep, that's right, they'll be dumped through a literal trap door.

"He needs to be shrewd however," added the show's source, "as dumping the wrong women will leave him with more money-grabbers than genuine lovers."

We. Can't. Wait.
