Celebs prepare for epic trek up Himalayas in aid of Coppafeel! following tragic death of its founder
Celebrities including Emma Willis, Angela Scanlon, Sara Davies, Candice Brown, Erin Kennedy and Giovanna Fletcher are taking on the trek of a lifetime in aid of breast cancer. The group, alongside over 100 supporters, have embarked on a four-day trek in the Indian Himalayas for the charity CoppaFeel! - the UK’s only breast cancer charity for young people.
Having started the hike on Saturday, 9 November, the group have already kicked off their gruelling challenge in a bid to raise money for the organisation’s life-saving mission. Each day, the stars will spend nine hours on the trails of the Dhauladhar mountain range.
Despite the intensity of the challenge, Emma, Angela, Sara, Candice, Erin and Giovanna were all smiles as they posed for a picture ahead of the hike. In the snaps, the group beamed from ear to ear as they stood in front of the gorgeous mountain range.

“This will be the second time I lead our wonderful ladies through the challenging mountains of India, and with all the experience I’ve picked up, I feel more prepared than ever - though I’m sure the Himalayas will still throw us a few curveballs!,” explained Giovanna. “As always, we'll be raising vital awareness and funds for CoppaFeel! to help ensure early breast cancer diagnosis. Himalayas, here we come!”
Meanwhile Emma, who has also done the trek before, couldn’t contain her excitement about the hike. “I can’t wait to be back with Gi, and the incredible group of people that she always gathers to raise awareness and funds. And most importantly, to spread the message of checking your chest!,” she said.
And former Strictly Come Dancing star Angela admitted that she was “thrilled” to be surrounded by so many inspiring women as she took on the challenge, while Dragons Den star Sara added that she was ready to have an “unforgettable adventure”.
The group’s trek for CoppaFeel! comes less than six months after the death of Kristen Hallenga, who founded the charity. Having been diagnosed with incurable stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 23 in 2009, Kris set up the charity and focused on promoting early detection by encouraging women under 30 to regularly check their breasts.
15 years after being founded, CoppaFeel! now delivers around 400 talks in schools and sends out more than one million text reminders every year in order to get young people checking their bodies so that they are able to notice any changes.
This week, the group will embark on the ‘CoppaTrek! with Gi' in the Indian Himalayas, alongside Giovanna Fletcher, to raise vital funds and awareness for breast cancer charity, CoppaFeel!. To donate, visit CoppaTrek! with Gi - Himalayas
