Cavernous closet? This grabber pole for hard-to-reach clothes is down to $12
Whatever you need to grasp, the nifty extendable hook will make you feel like you have a bionic arm — it holds up to 50 pounds.
Here's a tip from a professional shopper (it's me, I'm the professional shopper): If you're looking for life hacks, dig through your neighborhood Facebook groups. You'll find recommendations and advice from folks who deal with the same issues that you do. For example, how the heck do you grab and lift things from a really, really high rod without breaking an ankle on a stool? The solution, according to one angel of a human in my building's FB group, is the Frebuta Clothes Hook Pole. It's a great way to keep your closet organized sans bulky storage bins. Even better? It's only $12 with an on-page coupon.
This doodad is ideal if you're short and deal with back pain or other ailments that make it hard to grab things safely — or if you just really, really hate dragging around a step stool.
Why is this a good deal? 💰
The Frebuta Clothes Hook Pole is already marked down, but if you add the on-page coupon, you're looking at a 25% discount. Twelve bucks appears to be the all-time low price. And you have to consider the time and energy you'll save, and all the aggravation you'll be spared — you can't put a price on that!
Why do I need this? 🤔
So, how does this nifty gizmo work? First, you need to attach the included metal rods to the handle and hook attachments. After that, adjust it to your preferred length (it can extend up to a little more than 5 feet) and get to hooking, grabbing, lifting, storing and organizing. The S-hook can hold up to 50 pounds, and there's a soft sponge cover at the bottom of the pole for a comfy grip. When you're done, twist the pole back to the smallest length and store it ... wherever! It's small and thin enough to be out of sight, out of mind.
While all of that is fine and dandy, the best part about the hook pole is its versatility. Not only is it great for storing away summer dresses for next year, but you can use it for, well, whatever you want to use it for. Some quick ideas: Putting up and taking down Christmas lights and other holiday decor, opening high-up cabinets, hanging things like wind chimes and bird feeders, and even reaching for that sock that's buried too far under the bed.
What reviewers say 💬
Amazon customers have given this pleasingly useful pole an average rating of 4.6 stars (more than 75% of those are perfect five-star reviews). They've also discovered some pretty fun alternative uses!
Pros 👍
"I am short and my closet has tall poles to hang clothes on," explained this five-star reviewer. "I cannot reach them. Because of my age, I can't pull down and put back up without hurting my back. I saw this pole and I am so glad I bought it. It's made sturdy and works great to hang clothes in high places."
"I bought this for my mom so she could reach clothes in her closet that are hanging up high," wrote a satisfied shopper. "She loves it and says it is exactly what she wanted."
"It was easy to assemble and the length was perfect," shared a third customer. "Since I have shoulder issues, I needed help in reaching for clothes higher up in my closet. I can use it to hang the blouses up as well." The same reviewer also found another use: "I realized I could use it for the hummingbird feeders, so I don't need to stand on a stool and risk falling now."
You know who else could use this? Anyone with plants. "I bought this to help me hang a plant in my stairwell," explained this plant parent. "Allows me to take down to water when necessary and is easy to use. I like the fact that it compacts down into itself."
Meanwhile, this final reviewer is an inspiration when it comes to lazy mornings. "I have my curtains in an awkward position right next to my bed that makes them difficult to open, especially in the morning," they began. "This [pole] makes it very easy to open without having to get up and crawl across my bed on my knees. I can also see a lot of other great uses for this tool for stuff that is out of my reach." See? An inspiration!
Cons 👎
Customers generally love the grabber pole, but a few have noted that it's shorter than they expected, like this shopper: "Not quite long enough. I was hoping it would help get my Christmas lights off the house. It is a little short and the telescope kept letting go, so it slid down more."
Meanwhile, this shopper is worried about the hook itself rusting, especially since they use it to hang their laundry outside. "It is just disappointing that the metal hook on the end is not [stainless steel] ... If it was, I could leave it outside."
This telescoping helper has plenty of uses outside the closet — it can hang holiday decorations, bird feeders, plants and more!
