Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all smiles as they pose with dad Prince William in an adorable, unseen photo that was shared to celebrate Father's Day.

Posted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official Instagram account, the snap – which is a behind-the-scenes shot from their family holiday to Jordan, where they took their 2021 Christmas card photo – shows the three Cambridge children surrounding their dad as they giggle at the camera.

"Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to fathers and grandfathers across the world today!" the caption reads.

It didn't take long for the photo to rack up over half a million likes and plenty of heartwarming comments from royal fans. "This is such a lovely photo! Happy Father’s Day 🤍", one person commented on the photo, with another royal fan writing: "What a beautiful family! Thank you for sharing them with us all!"

A third fan replied with, "Happy Father’s Day William. You have a lovely little family", as another person chimed into the conversation by adding: "Beautiful family and fabulous future king!"

Someone else simply said, "They can’t help but make you smile."

It's unclear how eight-year-old Prince George, seven-year-old Princess Charlotte and four-year-old Prince Louis will be celebrating Father's Day with dad Prince William, but after a busy month celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, it's possible that they will opt for a chilled out, family day at their home in Kensington Palace – especially given that William will have a jam-packed few days coming up as he turns 40 years old on 21 June.

"The Queen has a big thing planned for [William] and he is going to throw something as well," Christopher Andersen, author of The Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, told Us Weekly of the royal plans for the future King's 40th birthday.

Earlier this year, to mark Kate Middleton's big 4-0, Prince William and their children reportedly helped to throw her a 'low-key' party. She also posed for a series of landmark portraits, which are currently making their way around the UK for members of the public to view. Given that the Duke of Cambridge is the future King, it's possible that he will have sat for a portrait to mark the occasion, too. So, watch this space!
