How to apply for the Great British Sewing BeeJames Stack - BBC

It's one of our favourite craft shows on TV – and now you have more time to apply to be part of the next series of the Great British Sewing Bee.

Applications have opened for the sewing competition, which sees 10 talented home sewists undergo challenges each week in a bid to be crowned the best amateur sewer in the country.

For every week of the series, the sewists must take part in three sewing challenges, designed to assess their creativity and technical skill. Their efforts are judged by expert sewists Esme Young and Patrick Grant, and the show is hosted by comedian Sara Pascoe.

The challenges set by Esme and Patrick include everything from creating bespoke children's clothes to designing wild and wonderful fancy dress costumes. Each week, one sewist is awarded Garment of the Week for one of their pieces, and another sewist is sent home.

The remaining competitors continue to battle it out until just three remain in the final – and then one lucky home sewer is crowned winner of the Great British Sewing Bee.

And now you have the chance to enter series 10 of the BBC craft show. The application website is open, and the deadline has been extended, so applicants now have until 8pm on Friday 26 May to submit their entry.

The website states that the competition is looking for crafters who are "a good sewer, adept with following a pattern, who thinks creatively, can fit to the body and has an eye for design and style".

The application form can be submitted online by clicking here, or you can email applyforsewingbee@loveproductions.co.uk or call 0207 067 4837 to have an application form posted to you.

The release date for the new series of The Great British Sewing Bee has now been announced. We can't wait!

The new series of the Great British Sewing Bee will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on 24 May 2023.
