Call the Midwife's Helen George looked stunning in a regal princess gown for her latest Instagram post.

The star shared a snap wearing a shimmering gold dress with a corset style fitted top and a Cinderella-like full skirt.

In the photo, Helen stands in a makeshift kitchen by tea and coffee making facilities as she fixes herself a brew - and her surroundings seem quite at odds with her decadent outfit.

Helen is playing the role of Anna in the stage musical The King and I at the London Palladium theatre in the West End, and it looks as though she is treating fans to a sneak peek of her costume as she takes a break backstage.

Helen captioned the image "Tea Lady" and many of her followers left comments on the post, sharing their thoughts on her look and expressing their excitement about coming to see the show.

As Helen is so well associated with her character Trixie from Call the Midwife that some fans were confused as to whether the gown was connected to a storyline from the Poplar-set show.

In the play, Helen stars as Anna, a British schoolteacher who is hired to teach the King of Siam's children, set in the 1800s.

You can book tickets to see Helen George and the cast perform The King and I on stage in London or at venues across the nation as part of the show's UK tour.
