Shoppers brand £45 Cadbury selection box a 'rip-off'

The selection box is a staple part of many families’ Christmas festivities.

But, at £45 per box, Sainsbury’s shoppers were left feeling “ripped off” with Cadbury’s limited edition 26-piece box.

After it was posted on the money-saving website, Latest Deals, customers quickly voiced their disappointment, saying it would be much cheaper to buy the 26 chocolate bars individually.

“Could make it myself for £25 and even have chocolate left over to do a smaller one.” One disgruntled shopper said.

The box is marketed as “probably the world’s biggest selection box” and it weighs over 2 kilos (if the weight of your chocolate is particularly important to you).

Whilst many shoppers were left feeling ripped off by the hefty price tag on the selection box, others could understand the higher pricing.

“It could be because there are [sic] 2 Cadburys World tickets inside and think they retail at £12.85 each.” One person said.

With that in mind, it makes the whole box a little bit more affordable - well, at least you wouldn’t be able to buy them all individually cheaper.
