Colin the Caterpillar cake has been a staple at British birthday parties since it was first introduced by M&S three decades ago in 1990 - and now it comes in jar form too.

Ideal for when you feel like treating yourself to a smaller portion of Colin for dessert, the new Colin the Caterpillar cake jar landed in M&S stores this week alongside two other “cake-away” flavours: the fruity raspberry ripple and caramel-based trillionaire’s.

The Colin cake features layers of rich chocolate sponge, Belgian chocolate sauce, chocolate ganache, milk and while chocolate chips and there’s a mini white chocolate Colin face on top too.

Raspberry ripple has layers of madeira sponge, vanilla buttercream, raspberry jam and freeze dried raspberry pieces while the trillionare’s cake jar also has madeira sponge, salted caramel sauce, chocolate ganache, chocolate shortcake balls and fudge pieces.
