Burger King Has an All-New Whopper Inspired by Fans

By now, every fast food fan—or person who watches cable television—knows that you can have it your way at Burger King. But what you might not know is that BK is so serious about giving customers the experience they want that it enlists the help of those very customers to find its new menu items.

In 2024, Burger King ran its Million Dollar Whopper competition to find its next sandwich—and give the burger creator $1 million. In November, BK announced its Million Dollar Whopper finalists: a Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper created by Fabian in California, a Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper created by Calvin in California, and a Mexican Street Corn Whopper created by Kelsie in Nebraska. Then, at the beginning of 2025, the fast food chain announced that the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper had taken the prize.

As we’re still waiting to see if and when the maple bourbon barbecue sauce-topped burger hits menus for good, BK has promised that we haven’t seen the end of the Million Dollar Whopper entries. Because, even though only three Whoppers made it to the finals, Burger King received millions of submissions that would make great menu offerings as well.

Now, it’s bringing another new Whopper to menus for a limited time that was inspired by a fan creation from the contest. On March 6, Burger King will release a new Steakhouse Bacon Whopper.

Burger King Releases Steakhouse Bacon Whopper

The new Steakhouse Bacon Whopper is a flame-grilled Whopper patty topped with A.1. sauce, crispy onions, bacon, Swiss cheese, peppercorn aioli, lettuce, and tomato. It sounds like something you’d find on your favorite steakhouse menu—but now it’s coming to drive-thrus.

Burger King discovered the flavor combo through its Million Dollar Whopper contest and comments on social media. Now, BK is bringing it to life for a limited time this March.

To make the new Whopper even more exciting, BK is also debuting an all-new combo option that you’ve never seen before. Now, instead of only fries, onion rings, or its signature “Have-sies” on the side, you can order a “premium” side at no additional cost. That means, for the first time ever, you can enjoy Chicken Fries, Mozzarella Sticks, or even Churro Fries as a side to your Whopper and drink—all for the same price as a regular combo meal.

The combo upgrade is only available for a limited time, so you’ll want to take advantage of it while you can. But there’s also no telling how long the Steakhouse Bacon Whopper will be on menus, so we’re sure you’ll be at the BK drive-thru soon anyway.
