Buckingham Palace launched its first ever gin on 13 July, and within just eight hours it sold out.

The Royal Collection Trust, a department of the Royal Household, created the premium small-batch London dry gin from natural ingredients sourced in the grounds of the royal residence.

The Buckingham Palace Gin is infused with 12 botanicals, including Hawthorn berries, as well as zesty lemons, verbena and mulberry leaves - and retails for £40.

All profits from sales of the gin will be donated to The Royal Collection Trust, which is a registered charity that helps to fund the care and conservation of the Royal Collection.

Earlier this week the gin quickly gained attention worldwide, including catching the eye of Deadpool actor, Ryan Reynolds.

The actor, who is also the owner of his own gin brand, Aviation Gin - posted a mock pre-ordered receipt onto his Instagram, which showed the delivery addressed to The Beatles band member Sir Paul McCartney.

While there is a waiting list for shoppers to get their hands on the new release, there are plenty of other gins to enjoy in the meantime so everyone can recreate their favourite alcoholic tipple.
