Bucket list holidays are the top post-COVID travel trend – here's 10 to tempt you

Bucket list holidays are set to be one of the top trends for post-lockdown escapes, with experts predicting that travellers will go big on their trips of a lifetime.

A surge in interest in iconic bucket list holidays has been predicted by travel industry experts, including Rachel Coffey at The Travel Corporation, who says people will be "looking to work their holidays harder than ever before".

She adds that holidaymakers are going to want to get back out there and fulfil their dreams, whether they're choosing to explore Britain or the Galapagos Islands.

People are also likely to consider travelling more responsibly as a result of COVID-19, choosing less-discovered destinations such as Nicaragua or Greenland, as well as trips that involve low impact travel by way of train or cycling, adds Zina Bencheikh, Managing Director, EMEA at Intrepid Travel.

Meanwhile, John Lightwood, Managing Director of Silver Fern Holidays, says: “Travellers will be looking for unique experiences, taking fewer flights but making them count: travelling further, staying longer and experiencing more."
