If you're still piecing together your broken heart after the end of Netflix's adaptation of One Day, then let the string of behind-the-scenes images David Nicholls just shared soothe you.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Nicholls, who penned the bestselling 2009 novel that inspired the series, wrote, 'It's 15th July, St Swithin's Day, 34 years since Em and Dex climbed Arthur's Seat, and I wanted to drop in and say a huge thank you to all the readers, booksellers, publishers and now viewers.'
'I'm hugely grateful to the team who made the show with such care and passion, and to Nicole Taylor and her script team, all at Drama Republic, Spectre Books and Curtis Brown Ltd and of course Ambika and Leo, best possible Dex and Em,' the novelist continued. 'I count myself extremely lucky to work with such wonderful friends and colleagues. Hoping for a dry St Swithin's Day. Thank you!'
In the series of images Nicholls shared, Leo Woodall (Dexter Mayhew) and Ambika Mod (Emma Morley) can be seen on the set of the hit Netflix adaptation of the book, which premiered on the platform on Valentine's Day 2024. Within eleven days of its release, the 14-episode series had surpassed 15.2 million views on the streaming platform, becoming the most-viewed British series globally on Netflix.
One Day is the will-they-won't-they, decades-long love story of Emma and Dex, who meet for the first time on their last day as students at the University of Edinburgh in 1988.
