As another round of auditions got underway in Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday evening, viewers at home were on the edge of their seats as one gravity defying act took to the stage. Acrobatic trio Serbat Troupe got off to a good start, as one performer attempted to scale a ladder while the other balanced on their head in a handstand position.

Unfortunately despite their enthusiasm, during the trick things didn’t quite go according to plan, and one member fell to the stage while executing a particularly difficult stunt as he lost his balance mid-handstand. Both the judges and audience immediately gasped in concern with many fans devastated to see that the trio’s dreams may have come crashing down.

However, in a surprising twist, the performers refused to be defeated by the setback and instead tried a second time to execute the trick successfully. Driven by their desire to succeed, the troupe managed to successfully pull off the tough stunt, resulting in rapturous applause from the audience.

During the judges comments at the end of the performance, Bruno Tonioli said: "I nearly had a heart attack you nearly killed me. This was so compelling I nearly passed out. I’ve never seen anything like it, and it was brilliant."

Alesha Dixon also weighed in adding: “Absolutely exhausting, I need a lie down.”

Before Amanda Holden commented: “It was so brilliant and so tense, but so scary. I don’t think we’ve ever seen anything like that before.”

After giving their critique, the trio were awarded four yes votes from the judges, allowing them to progress in the competition to the next stage and a chance at securing the all important cash prize and chance to perform in this year's Royal Variety Performance.

Following the results, fans were quick to take to social media to share their thoughts on the performance and whether or not they felt the judges had made the right call.

One fan wrote: "Wow cross between #Olympic gold for #gymnastics v #Jamesbond stunt...simply amazing."

A second viewer then added: "I can’t even balance a glass of water, never mind balancing someone on my head, climbing a pair of ladders, turning around and going down the other side!"

Meanwhile a third fan commented: "Serbat troupe were good and tense but what else can they do ??"

And a fourth viewer then said: "I saw these guys perform at a circus last year and they had a lil stumble then too. Still an amazing act though."

Meanwhile a fifth act soon commented: "Lets be honest we watch things like that hoping to see a mistake and when there isnt one its just not that entertaining to watch despite the insane amount of skill and training it takes to do."

Leaving a sixth viewer to add: "To be honest, I found that quite boring. Yeah, it’s not something I could do, but it was just… meh? Going up a ladder with someone on your head, and going down a ladder with someone on your head. It’s impressive, but not very interesting?"
