Brookside's Jennifer Ellison on if she'd return for a revival
Brookside star Jennifer Ellison has revealed whether she'd return for a revival of the popular soap, which came to an end two decades ago.
The actress, who played Emily Shadwick from 1998 to 2003, opened up about the Liverpool-based show during a recent appearance on Good Morning Britain and said she'd "love" to see it make a comeback.
Although her character fell to her death while trying to escape through a window during a robbery, Ellison is also up for returning if there were to be a way to bring Emily back.
"I think anyone who was involved in it... it holds such a special place in all our hearts, that I couldn't say no," Ellison replied when presenter Kate Garraway asked if she'd ever return.
The star continued: "I'd feel like I was cheating all the people who'd given me the start in this industry.
"So yeah, I'd love to see it come back, it would be amazing. And there's so many people who would love to see it come back."
It seems like the star is pretty busy for now, though. Later this month, Ellison will make her onstage debut as Rachel in Greatest Days at the King's Theatre in Glasgow.
The production, which was written by Tim Firth and serves as the official musical for boyband Take That, was recently adapted into a film.
According to the synopsis, Greatest Days follows "a group of five best friends in the 1990’s who are obsessed with their favourite boy band. The girls reunite more than 20 years later with a plan to see their heartthrobs one last time in what could be the Greatest Days of their lives".
Brookside streams on STV Player. Tickets for Greatest Days can be bought here.
