British Company Brings The Delorean DMC-12 Back To The Future By Making It Electric

A British company has brought the DeLorean DMC-12 back to the future by making it electric. Electrogenic, a company that specialises in retrofitting classic cars with batteries, has engineered a battery for the iconic car. The 'plug-and-play' conversion kit replaces the infamous V6 engine with a more efficient and quieter electric vehicle (EV) system. The conversion is completely reversible and reportedly enhances the coupe into a "true sports car" with increased power and significantly improved performance. The battery provides a range of 150 miles and can be fully charged in "under an hour" using a CCS rapid charger. The DMC DeLorean initially hit the market in 1981 and was made famous by the Back to the Future movie franchise. DMC sold less than 10,000 iterations of the metallic silver, rear-engine sports car before the original company declared bankruptcy.
