Britain's Got Talent 'blunder' as fans spot major error in 'time-travelling' magic act

Britain’s Got Talent fans believe they’ve seen a blunder in a trick of the magic act on the latest episode.

Married couple Jay and Joss took to the stage on Saturday 18 May hoping to impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli.

One viewer branded the couple as ‘fake’ during their act that saw them ask the judges to pick details about their honeymoon.

They asked Simon, Amanda and Alesha to provide a date, month and year, for their honeymoon all while holding a balloon. Simon chose the 7th, Amanda opted for the month August and Alesha chose 2025.

Bruno then took the balloon and when it burst it, a note came out which read the date 07/08/2025.

The judges went on to pick how much money they would spend on the date; £7,700.50, their hotel room number as 127, location as Blackpool, and showbiz entertainer as Nicole Scherzinger. With that part of their act complete, the couple then moved onto the next part.

They showed a video above the stage playing out their honeymoon and showcased all of the judges' choices - but viewers were sceptical about the act.

One wrote on the social media platform: "The act who went into the future & pulled out a newspaper with the date Tuesday 7th of August 2025 are fake, the 7th of August 2025 will be a Thursday, not Tuesday. #BGT #bgt."

On X, another person wrote: "The third member of this act is the chap on the video editor. #bgt", as another commented: “Isn't video editing magic #bgt #britainsgottalent.”

A third person added: "The third member of this act is the chap on the video editor. #bgt".

A fourth viewer penned: "Since when was AI considered magic? #britainsgottalent #BGT", while another wrote: "Anything with video, external content can all be altered by a team off camera. Nah. #BGT."

The same episode saw comedian Alex Mitchell audition - the youngster attended BGT entirely alone admitting he was too nervous to bring someone he knew.

Alex earned a standing ovation from the audience and all four judges. Amanda told him: "Honestly I didn't stop laughing from start to finish, that was an amazing set."

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno added: "Your writing is brilliant, you are a great comedian."

Alesha told Alex: "You were worth the wait, well done." Meanwhile Simon rounded off the feedback by adding: "I think a great comedian is fearless and funny, you are both."
