Bridget Jones's London: Where To Visit Now unknown - Rex

Bridget Jones is back (well, almost). The fourth instalment of the hit film franchise, Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, which is based on Helen Fielding's bestselling 2013 novel of the same name, will finally hit the silver screen on February 13, and with it comes fevered anticipation for what awaits everybody's favourite hapless heroine.

The newest addition to the beloved series meets Bridget (played with aplomb, once again, by Oscar-winner Renée Zellweger) as a widowed (spoiler alert!) mother-of-two who is trying to scoop together the contents of her chaotic life so that she can begin to piece it back together again. Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, the screenplay for which was once again penned by Fielding, is the perfect, most hilariously, heartbreakingly sanguine meditation on love and loss.

Despite Fielding writing Jones in the book as a Holland Parker, Bridget's lovingly chaotic —and achingly desirable zone 1 — apartment in the first two films can actually be found at 8 Beadle Street in Southwark. The exterior of the apartment is a pub just a stone's throw from Beadle Street; The Globe Tavern in Borough Market, nestled just behind London Bridge station.

Daniel Cleaver's apartment

That iconic tummy-sucking-in knicker scene (you know the one) played out against the impossibly slick backdrop of Daniel Cleaver's (Hugh Grant) apartment, which is a real private residence located in a converted 19th-century warehouse on Clink Street overlooking the Thames.

Bridget and Mark Darcy's first kiss

Bridget's dating chronicles might seem like they'll never get the resolution they require in the first film, but when she and Mark Darcy finally lock lips in the snow (she, in her pants, he, in a suitable winter coat) even the stoniest of hearts can't help but be warmed. The exact location of their kiss is outside the No. 11 Royal Exchange Buildings in Cornhill on Threadneedle Street.

Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason (2004)

While most of the sophomore film was filmed in Lech, Austria and Thailand, the franchise still managed to stay rooted in London.

Mark and Daniel's fist fight

Despite Bridget believing that Mark definitely doesn't love her anymore while mistakenly being detained in a Thai jail, back in London the reality was unfurling as Mark confronted Daniel around and in the Italian fountains of Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park.

Whether you have an Urban Family of your own or not, there's nothing like friends sharing their two cents about your relationship. When Bridget's trio of best friends convened to convince her to dump Mark who, they maintained was clearly cheating on her, it happened over wine and cigarettes at The Light Bar. You might not be able to smoke indoors anymore, but the bar set in an old Victorian power station is still open for cocktails at 233 Shoreditch High Street today.

Bridget buys a corset for Mark's law council dinner

The evening doesn't quite pan out as she might have hoped, but Bridget buys her corset to accompany Mark to his law council dinner, from Mayfair lingerie store Rigby & Peller, which has stores across London, including the Conduit Street location seen on screen.

Bridget Jones's Baby (2016)

Bridget's new offices

In the third instalment of the franchise, Bridget has climbed the ranks to become a senior producer at the fictional Hard News, and the real-life Regus Studios on Kingdom Street in Paddington set the scene for the company's studios.

Bridget's pre-natal birthing classes

Oscillating between two potential baby daddies, Bridget attended pre-natal birthing classes with Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) and Mark at Stratford's London Aquatics Centre.

Daniel's funeral

The laugh-out-loud funeral of Daniel was filmed in the St. Clement Danes Church in Strand, which is actually the central church of the Royal Air Force. The church also has a memorial for those who have died in service in the RAF.

As Bridget goes into early labour, Mark and Jack attempt to carry her across Albert Bridge in Battersea to the hospital, where deadpan Dr. Rawlings (Emma Thompson) is ready and waiting at University College Hospital in Bloomsbury to deliver baby Darcy. In reality, this is a journey that may take hours — if not days, with a pregnant woman in tow — but in the land of make-believe London, anything is possible!

Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy

Filming for Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy began in May 2024 and the cast and crew were spotted at various locations around Hampstead, including on the Heath and Haverstock Hill. One wintry scene from the upcoming film, which was actually filmed in July 2024, was shot at Sayeh & Galton Flowers in Flask Walk, Hampstead.
