Simone Ashley is the Bridgerton star we (quite literally) can’t stop talking about. The actor, who plays Kate Sharma in the Netflix series, is only 29, but have a gander at her IG and you’ll see she seems to have that wise aura about her that only true #Adults have. The captions, the way she dresses, the smize. THE SOPHISTICATION. Don't even get us started on how chic she looked at the Bridgerton season three world premiere...

Turns out, she’s got a pretty sensible and adult approach to health and fitness, too – a lot like her co-star Halle Bailey, in fact. Here’s everything Ashley does to get that glorious glow.

1. She's a fan of Pilates and running

Speaking to Vogue UK, Ashley revealed she swears by reformer Pilates, 'I was introduced to it a few years ago – and I’m a massive runner, I run all the time.' And the combination not only does wonders for her physical health, but also her mental health too. 'Whenever I’ve got lots of press coming up, or a red carpet, if I work out lots I feel less depressed and generally happier,' says Ashley, 'And I feel like the best version of myself.'

2. She hikes

In an interview with Conde Nast Traveller, she said: ‘I love hikes,’ adding that her ‘perfect vacation’ would include hiking and exploring. ‘I’m a big explorer,’ Ashley said. By the sounds of it, Ashley doesn’t actually hike for exercise purposes, rather for enjoyment, and we’re so here for it.

3. She’s learning kickboxing

Ashley’s kept this one on the DL so far, but according to Glamour US, she’s been learning kickboxing. It’s not known where or who’s been teaching her, but we do know that she lives in London, where there are plenty of kickboxing studios (JAB, Kobox and Sweat by BXR to name a few).

4. She rides horses

Another form of exercise Ashley gets in without even intending to do so: horseback riding. Speaking to Glamour UK, she said that her role in Bridgerton forced her to get quite good at it. ‘I’m quite natural and I’m quite sporty anyway,’ she said. ‘At the start, I was in the saddle every other day, pretty much for one to one and a half hours a day. I loved it.’ She added that it helped her get some much-needed headspace. Love that for her.

5. She swims

No doubt a big bonus when it came to fulfilling her role in The Little Mermaid, Ashley is a ‘big nature person’. She told Conde Nast Traveller this includes swimming and ‘going to the beach’, both of which, along with hiking, she loves to do on holiday. To top it all off, she’d treat herself to ‘an absolutely massive meal and some really nice wine with friends and good music’. #Balance for the win.

6. She eats fish on the reg

Salmon is a go-to for Ashley (when she's not chowing down on an ice cream), but apparently that became a bit of an issue when trying to squeeze into the corsets she wears while filming Bridgerton. ‘On my first day, I was like, “OK, first day as a leading lady, got to eat lots of food, be really energised,”’ she told Glamour UK. ‘So, I had this massive portion of salmon and that’s when I needed to be sick, basically because I was wearing the corset.’

‘I realised when you wear the corset, you just don’t eat. It changes your body. I had a smaller waist very momentarily. Then the minute you stop wearing it, you’re just back to how your body is. I had a lot of pain with the corset, too, I think I tore my shoulder at one point!’ Reason number 594110 not to wear a corset.

7. She gets her greens in

Ashley previously shared a clip of herself enjoying a green juice on IG. We can’t quite work out what was in it, but judging by the dark green colour, we’re hedging our bets on a whole lot of green veggies. Looks like she was having the time of her life with that foam moustache, too.

8. She stays hydrated

Ashley shared that one of the beauty tips learnt while on set for Bridgerton was focusing on hydration: 'You work long days with all the wigs, costumes and make-up, so staying hydrated is key,' says Ashley. 'I also like to steam my face at the end of the day – it’s a good way to clear the skin out.'

9. She doesn't skip the SPF

The Bridgerton actor doesn't skimp on the sunscreen and makes sure to pack a strong factor 50 on holidays. In the same interview, she shared: 'After Cannes, I’m going to take a break where there will – hopefully – be lots of sun and I’ll definitely pack my SPF 50,' — and by the looks of her flawless skin, we'll be following suit before hitting the beach this year.

10. She takes good care of her hair

Ashley avoids using heat on her hair and added that she tries to eat a really healthy diet to keep it strong; 'I eat a lot of protein. There are lots of ways to get your nutrients in and I would say that diet is a big thing for healthy hair.' If the key to long locks like hers is protein, you can count us in on the post-workout shakes.
