Brendan Gallagher and wife Emma Fortin are expecting their first baby: 'Coming this winter'

Brendan Gallagher and his wife have exciting news — the Canadian NHL couple are expecting! Emma Fortin revealed the update on social media Wednesday, in a joint post made with the Montreal Canadiens alternate captain.

"Baby Gallagher coming this winter," their post's caption read, alongside some seasonal emojis like a snowman and snowflake.

The pregnancy news comes months after the Edmonton-born right winger and his wife tied the knot in July. The newlyweds held a dream-like wedding at Montreal's Maison Principale, in Fortin's home province of Quebec.

The Instagram post announcing they're expecting a baby in the coming months received tons of love from fans, hockey-related accounts and fellow NHL wives.

"Love this pic. Can't wait to meet the little angel!" Paola Anderson, the wife of Montreal Canadiens right winger Josh Anderson, wrote.

"The perfect family," one person added, alongside three white heart emojis. "I couldn't be happier."

"That baby has no idea his/her dad is the legendary Brendan Gallagher," someone noted.

"Congratulations!!! That baby will be so lucky to have both of you as their parent!!" someone else shared.

"Project NHL on the way," one person quipped.

Earlier this summer, Fortin gave her followers a sneak peek at the wedding she and Gallagher had on July 6. She posted an Instagram Reel featuring herself walking down the centre of the event space with her hands in the air, as the room sparkled with lights and lit candles.

In the clip, she wore a strapless white minidress with a large draping bow on the back, and captioned her post, "06/07/2024 — wedding of our dreams."

Another post she made a few days later featured stunning photos from the ceremony. That carousel of snapshots included the moment they sealed their marriage with a kiss, various couples photos as well as behind-the-scenes shots from their special day.

Both posts received tons of love, with numerous people congratulating the couple. Gallagher wrote, "Easiest decision of my life!" with a red heart emoji on the latter post.

"The most beautiful evening!" wrote Julie Petry, the wife of Detroit Red Wings defenceman Jeff Petry.

"Congratulations, pal," Canadian actor Kevin Durand told Gallagher.

"So happy for you both!" someone added, while giving their congratulations to the couple.

"What a couple. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness and love," one person chimed in, along with several red heart emojis.
