Brad Pitt’s incredible act of kindness concerning $39million family home shared with ex-Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt may have just sold his Los Angeles home since buying it in 1994, but the former owner of the house, Cassandra Peterson – known for her portrayal of Elvira in the eponymous film series – can't help but remember what a kind neighbor he was when he replaced her, and she moved in next door.

The actor first bought the 1.9-acre property in 1994 for a reported $1.7 million, and nearly three decades later, he sold it for a whopping $39 million in March.

The home is situated behind a gated community in Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood, and though he bought it a decade before he got together with Angelina Jolie, the couple did live in the estate with their six kids – Maddox Chivan, 21, Pax Thien, 19, Zahara Marley, 18, Shiloh Nouvel, 16, and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, 14 – for a time.

Speaking with People about the now also former owner of her home, Cassandra revealed the unintentional role of landlord that Brad took on, gracefully, when he purchased the home.

Aside from owning the main home of  6,700 square feet, which already sat on its own expansive grounds, the horror film icon explained: "I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous to the edge of the property. And every time they came up he bought one."

One of them was owned by an elderly man in his early nineties, a widow, who Brad struck quite the generous deal with so he could continue to live in his home.

Cassandra revealed: "I know that Brad allowed him to live there without paying anything until he died," adding: "It was kind of funny because John lived to be 105."

The impressive home, which is now more akin to a compound, has five bedrooms and five bathrooms on the main property, sits on 1.9-acres, and it has a rich history, aside from legends like Brad and Cassandra living in it.

It was reportedly built by an oil baron in 1910, and rock legend Jimmy Hendrix wrote his 1967 hit "May This Be Love" in the residence.
