If you've got a soft spot for Nicholas Sparks' movies (The Notebook, The Longest Ride), then you are going to love this story.

Quora user Kevin James Walsh recently posted a story to the question-answer website about how he ended up marrying the childhood crush who saved his life, and it's given us goosebumps.

The Quora question asked, 'What is one moment in your life you thought could only happen in a movie?'

'I can't not answer this,' Walsh wrote.

Walsh explained how when he was a 13-year-old at summer camp, he came across the 'prettiest girl' he'd ever seen who told him 'black is a good colour on your'.

That girl? Blake Moore.

As a result, the pair became friends and exchanged AIM screen names (think of it as old-school MSN) and 'stayed in touch for a while'.

Of course, like most first-loves, the pair lost touch after a few years but Walsh revealed: 'Not a day went by that I didn't think about that girl. Even now I'm not sure I can say why - something about her just stayed with me.'

However, in Walsh's senior year of high school, he admits he went though some 'dumb' stuff that 'seemed earth-shattering at the time' and soon fell into depression. At one point, he decided to commit suicide. He even wrote a note and went to the location where he planned to do it.

What happened next is nothing short of a miracle.

'Somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds before I would have committed suicide my phone rang. I checked the caller ID - I couldn't die not knowing. It was a number I didn't recognise, so I picked up and it was her,' he added.

Yeah, it was Blake - his childhood sweetheart.

On the phone, Moore explained she felt, for some unknown reason, instantly compelled to call Walsh in that moment, despite the fact they hadn't spoken in a year.

Walsh revealed he then told Moore about his plans to kill himself.

'I spilled the beans and she talked me out of it. I mean she literally said, "What? Don't do that." And that was that. She made me promise to call her the next day, and we hung up. That night I started writing the words which, ten years later, I'd propose with.'

And propose he did.

Last year, Blake and Kevin married in what might be the most beautiful, countryside-inspired wedding we've ever seen.

Right, someone call up Ava DuVernay, we have a new romantic film script coming her way.
