Brittany Ball and her 8-year-old son, James, were visiting family during Labor Day Weekend, when Brittany and her sisters began discussing the fashion shows they used to throw as kids.

The mom content creator, 32, says her son has always been creative and loves to express himself through his art, whether that's film photography, sketching or dressing. So, she wasn't surprised that, not long after her conversation with her sisters, James organically planned a fashion show of his own for the family.

"We each were given very specific instructions on our jobs," Brittany tells PEOPLE. "I was the producer (obviously behind the camera) and on music. My sister and her boyfriend were the models, which is also cool because they are professional models as well. Another sister of mine was tasked with the lighting, and everyone else was the audience."

"James worked with my sister Gigi and her boyfriend John on this," she adds. "They actually went to a separate room for 'creative privacy' while discussing their looks."

For the show, James created three full looks, including one that featured a chain of glow sticks, a random market purchase while out running errands that day.

"Seeing those incorporated was nothing short of hilarious," Brittany says. "We had no idea what to expect when he was coming up with those, so the random bursts of laughter you hear throughout the video are just my family being tickled by his creativity."

As the models walked the runway in the dark displaying James' looks, the rest of the family sat on the staircase observing. Throughout the show, Brittany captured the sweet moments on camera.

After returning home, Brittany was going through her camera roll when she came across videos from this trip. She watched one of the fashion show and was so touched by it. She knew other people might also be inspired, so she decided to post it on TikTok.

Then, the TikTok went viral amassing over 4.1 million views and 2,700 comments.

"THE GLOW STICK LEASH??," one comment says.

"PAUSE. Why is no one talking about how she ATE the walk up?!!?" another person writes.

Urban Outfitters also chimes in, "Future creative director 👏💋."

"Seeing my son so profoundly willing to express himself in a safe place reminded me that healing is in fact possible," she says. "Getting to witness this and watch it happen with my own family was a moment I will truly never forget. I'm just grateful to share that joy and hope on the internet.

"Reading through the comments they were sweet, funny, hopeful and a reminder that we are all itching for genuine connection and hope," she adds. "That makes me excited to create more meaningful moments like this as the days go on."

While James hasn't planned a fashion show since, Brittany says that she and James are going on a bigger family trip in February, where another show might happen unannounced.

"I hope for my son that whatever path he chooses, he's at peace," she says. "I know no life is or will ever be perfect, so although I feel a general answer would be 'To be happy,' I'm more interested in the path of curiosity and choosing peace despite the challenges life can tend to bring."

"I know creating that environment for him is what has and will continue to set him up to thrive," she adds.
