Boots stocks a wide range of beauty products, but there is one item that stands out from the crowd for shoppers.

The high street store’s number one bestselling beauty product? The No7 Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex Night Concentrate, the brand’s first ever clinically proven night serum concentrate.

When Boots first released the serum in May 2020, it received the largest ever number of sign-ups for a waitlist on – the final figure reaching an impressive 100,040.

Following its digital release, the concentrate sold at a rate of 1.3 products every minute and is now officially Boots’ bestselling beauty product.

What’s even better? It’s currently on offer, down from £34 to just £25.

What’s the fuss all about?

The concentrate features a formula that combines two of the most effective age-defying ingredients: peptides and retinol.

While retinol has been available since the 1960s, interest in the ingredient has increased in recent years due to numerous sought-after beauty brands and celebrities promoting its benefits.

What reviews say

The 179 reviews on the product’s web page speak for themselves:

  • “I started using this over a month ago, gradually building up to daily use. I have quite good skin on my face for a 65-year-old but over the past few years my neck has become loose and wrinkly with the start of a turkey neck. Have tried all types of serums but this is one miracle in a tube.”

  • “Over the last few months (now 55) my skin has look tired, this product has been great for me. I've only been using it two weeks and I can really see and feel the difference, specifically my black bags under my eyes, they are visibly less grey. People have commented the skin also feels thicker.”

  • “I tried this six weeks ago and have noticed such a difference in my skin. I was always nervous about trying retinol but as long as you just monitor your skin and read the instructions clearly you are fine. No7 Retinol is the best I wouldn’t buy off anyone else.”

  • “I’m 46 and can confirm this is a game-changer.”

  • “I have been using this for almost four months now and the results are amazing. I have not experienced any problems using this and now use every night. My skin has got a glow and the skin is plumper. Wrinkles disappearing. Really happy with this.”

  • “This stuff is amazing. The best anti-ageing product I have ever used.”
