It's designed to support your winter wellness needs and help kickstart a healthier 2025, with a focus on skincare, gut health, hydration and sleep.

It also includes some top-rated products that have been tried and tested by our experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute. This includes Liquid I.V.’s celeb-favourite electrolyte sachets (which scored an impressive 93/100 in our tests) and a Misfits vegan protein bar (76/100).

It also features samples of DIRTEA’s popular matcha powder and Gold Collagen’s Forte Ageless drink, allowing you to try them out before committing to a full-size purchase.

As a wellness writer, I love trying out the buzziest health, fitness and beauty products, so it was like Christmas came late when I got my hands on the launch. Aside from the protein bar, electrolytes and greens, here are some of my favourite items in the box.

  • Weleda Skin Food Light (30ml): This is a lightweight version of the brand’s iconic Skin Food, loved by celebrities including Rihanna, Victoria Beckham and Fearne Cotton. It’s silkier and absorbs faster than the original, plus it’s less greasy. Aside from moisturising, it works well as a primer underneath your makeup.

  • Feather & Down Pillow Spray (50ml): I spritz a sleep-inducing mist on my pillow each night before bed, so I was thrilled to have another option to choose from. I’ve tried this one from Feather & Down before and I love the subtle blend of chamomile and lavender, which is relaxing, but not over-powering or sickly sweet.

  • Myvitamins Zinc and Magnesium (800g): I’ve been taking magnesium on and off for a year now and I’ve found it has helped improve my sleep quality. I haven’t been taking this one for long enough yet to comment on the benefits, but I'm pleased to have more magnesium tablets to add to my stash. Note, it’s advisable to consult a healthcare professional before taking a new supplement.

The biggest wellness trends of 2024

To celebrate the launch of its first-ever wellness box, Boots has also revealed its biggest beauty and wellness trends of 2024. Which ones did you get involved with?

Superfoods: According to the brand, superfood ingredients continued to prove popular, with mushrooms and super-greens emerging as breakout categories. If you’re yet to try your first mushroom macchiato or bright green smoothie, there's no better time...

Supplements aside, shoppers were also after superfood skincare, enriched with ingredients like ginseng, green tea and even fermented beans.

Magnesium: Chances are, you’ve come across magnesium on social media – the hashtag has over one billion views on TikTok alone. We’re not just talking supplements – magnesium-infused lotions, sprays and bath salts were flying off the shelves, too.

Skin-flooding: As well as slurping electrolytes, hydration continued to be a huge focus in the world of skincare, with viral trends like ‘skin flooding’, which involves layering your products to achieve long-lasting hydration. According to Boots, hyaluronic acid was the holy grail ingredient of the year. No change there then.

Gut health: Taking a good-quality gut health supplement can help manage your gut bacteria and improve your digestive health. It seems more of us are jumping on the bandwagon, with sales for gut-loving pills up 15% year on year at Boots.
