Boomers, Tell Us The Misconceptions Younger People Have About You That You're Tired Of Hearing
People love to poke fun at every generation, but boomers arguably get the brunt of it (you're right up there, too, millennials). So, as a curious Gen Z'er, I'm itching to know: if you're a boomer, what's a misconception younger people have about your generation that's totally wrong or misinterpreted?
Maybe you hear a lot that "all boomers are conservative," but like all folk, there are people on all sides of the political spectrum. In fact, you think it's frustrating that some younger generations don't realize that it was your generation who fought, marched, and protested for some of the rights able to be exercised now.
Maybe you often hear younger folks say something along the lines of, "Boomers had it the easiest." And although it may be true in some cases, it wasn't in others. For example, there certainly weren't as many opportunities back then for women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, or people of color.
Or, on a less serious note, perhaps you're tired of people always assuming you don't know how to use the current technology. If you could use a rotary phone for years, you can certainly figure out how to go to the app store.
Whatever the case, if you're a boomer, what assumptions or misconceptions are made by younger generations that you are tired of hearing? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, or you can anonymously submit them using this form!
