Bobby Berk Is Selling His Live-Work Space in L.A.Sara Ligorria-Tramp

At this point, design sensation and former Queer Eye interiors lead Bobby Berk needs no introduction. His L.A. design headquarters might, however—given the fact that they’ve recently hit the market for $2.75 million. We repeat: You could soon live in a four-bedroom Hollywood Hills abode that functioned as ground zero for the star designer and his small but mighty team.

Berk, who was replaced on Queer Eye by ELLE DECOR A-Lister Jeremiah Brent after eight seasons, first locked eyes with the approximately 3,000-square-foot residence on 3020 Hollycrest Drive at the tail end of 2019—after realizing that his firm needed more room to breathe, metaphorically speaking. The original home was built in 1979 and needed a bit of an upgrade (it also wasn’t designed to serve as a full-fledged office!), so Berk was all too happy to jumpstart a renovation. This took three years, after which the designer unveiled buzzworthy before-and-afters on his site. With Berk once again outgrowing the space, his L.A. headquarters are for sale in their newly glammed-up form, practically beckoning you to move in, like, yesterday. (The location of his new HQ has not been revealed yet).

Everything in the home exudes warmth, from the arched doorways to the living room's wood-beamed, chalet-inspired ceiling. The kitchen (which Berk, on his site, calls “perhaps the most dramatic transformation”) merges black-and-brass cabinetry with marble countertops and top-of-the-line appliances, making for a space that will urge you to delete Uber Eats, once and for all.

WFHers will be happy to hear about the abundance of workspaces peppered throughout. For instance, there’s a conference room with a fireplace topped by a black metal mantel; a call room with playfully patterned wallpaper; and an airy coworking hub benefiting from large windows and skylights. The highlight of 3020 Hollycrest Drive, however, just might be its incredibly well-appointed outdoor area—boasting a sleek kitchen with a grill and barstools, chic pergola, and firepit.

Those interested (who wouldn’t be?) need to act fast. The listing, held by Redfin agent Nadine Guyaux, is gaining quite a bit of traction. Given its intimate connection to someone like Berk, we’re absolutely not surprised.

Berk decided to knock the original kitchen’s walls down, overhauling everything. Now the space boasts white Calacatta Extra marble by Daltile, leather Steelcase counter stools, and black cabinetry from Unique Kitchens & Baths.
