Bobbi Brown responds to viral TikTok foundation post with incredible video

Bobbi Brown is a beauty industry superstar and whenever she spills the details on her favourite makeup products, we’re quick to take note. And her latest product recommendation has gained a lot of attention on TikTok.
In a few recent TikTok posts, Brown highlights her go-to foundation, the Jones Road What The Foundation, coming soon to the UK.
'It’s like a tinted moisture balm, but it adds coverage to most places where you need it,' said Brown in her video. 'It has beautiful oils infused in it and it gives a nice glow-y finish that will absorb into the skin because it’s an oil.'
And she’s telling the truth! The foundation is formulated with many skin-nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil (to hydrate) and sodium hyaluronate (to lock in moisture), which helps the formula blend seamlessly into the skin. It offers a light to medium coverage that dries down to a natural-looking glowy finish on the skin.
But, not everyone seems to be thrilled with the foundation. Beauty influencer, Meredith Duxbury, posted a negative review on TikTok critiquing the foundation, including the smell and consistency.
In response to the review, Brown created a clap-back video (which is iconic TBH) trying out the influencer’s method of applying the foundation—by scooping out a large amount of product with her fingers and slathering it all over her face. The result? Not so good because that is not the best method of applying the foundation.
So to help fans learn how to apply the foundation correctly, Brown shared another TikTok revealing her top tips. 'There are three ways to apply What The Foundation, use a brush, a sponge, or your fingers,' said Brown in the video. She then explains in-depth exactly how much product should be used and how to blend it evenly into the skin.
Brown also shared her thoughts on the scented formula in a separate TikTok video. 'What The Foundation smells like a spa...its oils that help keeps your skin nice and smooth and makes the pigment and the product just lay perfectly on your skin,' said Brown. 'I love the way it smells, it’s actually ginger—and who doesn’t love the smell of ginger? This is a clean product. We don’t use perfumes. We don’t use heavy scents. We just use essential oils.'
Jones Road customers also love the foundation, giving it a 4.5-star rating and hundreds of rave reviews.
'The foundation blended in beautifully and looks so natural. I have oily skin, so I wasn’t sure if it would work well for me, but it did! And it lasts all day. The consistency was different from what I have used in the past, so it took a couple of applications to get used to it. Overall, I love the product,' wrote one satisfied customer.
As with all cosmetics, there is bound to be something that someone won’t love or like as much as someone else—that’s just human nature.
