Hairdressers have finally reopened and if you're looking for hair inspiration for your next cut, you've come to exactly the right place.

For summer we are loving the blunt bob as seen on countless celebrities like Margot Robbie, Rosamund Pike and Penelope Cruz.

Chic and timeless, the blunt bob is a great way to ensure all of your lockdown-induced split ends are gone, giving your hair a really healthy fresh start ahead of the summer.

Typically hitting just above the shoulder, it frames the face beautifully and is a low maintenance style that is incredibly flattering. You can simply wake up, give it a brush or a quick straighten or curl and you'd be good to go.

Now, of course, the celebrity versions are the work of Hollywood hairstylists but the good news is the looks are so easy to copy whether you opt for Margot Robbie's wavey style, Rosamund's super sleek cut or Penelope Cruz's ultra-glamorous take.

The key with this hairstyle is to simply make sure you book in for regular trims so it doesn't grow out, and invest in a good sulphate-free shampoo to keep your colour looking fresh.

Below we asked hairstylist Justin Adams to take us through everything there is to know about getting a blunt bob. From what face shape a blunt bob suits to what colours go best with the look and how to style them - here’s what he had to say:

Why have blunt bobs become so popular?

"Bobs are nice in the summer because you have so much less hair to deal with in the heat," Justin says.

What face shape suits a blunt bob?

"Bobs in general suit most face shapes, depending on what type you go for," Justin says. "If you're worried about going too short and dramatic, you can have a longer graduated bob that's longer at the front. This is particularly flattering for rounder faces."

What colours work well for a blunt bob?

"If I was going to do a blunt bob and colour, I would do more bold block colours," Justin says. "Dark box bobs or solid coppers look amazing."

We also think babylights or highlights can look great with a bob to give it some body and movement.

Any styling tips?

"A loose tousled bob always looks amazing," Justin says.

The beauty of a blunt bob is its versatility. You can use a wand to add a loose curl, leave it to set for 10 minutes then spray with setting spray; go poker straight with straighteners or simply spritz wet hair with sea salt spray, scrunch and go.

Will you go for it?
