Singer Lee Ryan, who found fame with the boyband Blue, has been found guilty of racially aggravated assault of a flight attendant. It's reported that the singer was drunk whilst on board the British Airways flight from Glasgow to London last July.

The court heard how Ryan, who is 39, grabbed at the flight attendant's wrist and said "I want your chocolate children" and called her a "chocolate cookie".

Whilst appearing in Ealing Magistrates' Court, he denied that the use of the word 'chocolate' was in relation to race and said his actions had been "playful".

It's said that Ryan had consumed a bottle of port before boarding the flight. He was arrested under a public order offence at London City Airport on 31 July 2022, shortly after the incident occurred.

The Mirror previously reported that a Met Police spokesman said: "At around 16:40hrs on Sunday, 31 July, officers met a flight that had arrived at London City Airport from Glasgow.

"A 39-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence. He was taken into custody at an east London police station and was released under investigation the following day."
