Blue Peter presenters Matt Baker, Simon Thomas and Konnie Huq have sweet reunion
Former Blue Peter presenters Matt Baker, Simon Thomas, and Konnie Huq enjoyed a reunion this week, with Simon sharing some sweet snaps on Instagram.
Matt, Simon and Konnie previously hosted the long-running children's show together almost 20 years ago. Simon and Matt presented the show together from 1999 until 2005 while Konnie became the longest serving female Blue Peter presenter when she presented it from 1997 until 2008.
Simon took to social media to share their reunion with fans. The presenter shared several photos of the three of them at a pub while he held his baby, whose face was blurred out.
"Lovely lunch," Simon wrote in the caption. "Catching up with some old friends." Matt commented on the post, writing: "'Old' friends being the word — where did the years go..."
Simon announced last year that he and wife Derrina Jebb were expecting a baby together.
The couple married in 2021 — 4 years after the tragic death of Simon's first wife Gemma, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia — an aggressive form of cancer.
Simon and Derrina's baby daughter arrived prematurely in October. Taking to Instagram after the birth, Simon wrote: "Not everything in life goes quite according to plan.
"One moment we think we’ve got eight weeks until our little one arrives; the next, after Derrina fell rapidly ill, we’re suddenly welcoming into the world a very tiny, but hugely precious baby girl weighing just over three pounds.
"The neonatal team at #stokemandeville hospital were simply incredible and held our hands physically and in spirit the whole way through a very fear filled and stressful day yesterday.
"I cannot express how proud and blessed I feel right now."
