Blake Lively's silver sparkly 3D flower dress is how to do floral fashion
We hate to say it, but we were kind of over floral fashion by the time the It Ends With Us promo tour came to an end. No shade to Blake Lively, the actress nailed method dressing by successfully channelling her character, florist Lily Bloom, in dresses, jeans, suits and even a pair of leather chaps all decorated with flower motifs. But, to paraphrase Miranda Priestly, florals – whether in spring or not – aren't exactly groundbreaking.
Well, we're officially eating our words because Blake just debuted a seriously stunning 'fit that yes, features florals. Stepping out for her first appearance since her legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, Blake arrived at the SNL50: The Anniversary Special red carpet last night [Sunday 16 February] to celebrate 50 years of the popular American comedy sketch show, Saturday Night Live. The actress was accompanied by her husband Ryan Reynolds, though our eyes were firmly fixed on Blake. Or more specifically, her dress.
Her shimmering silver figure-hugging couture gown by Tamara Ralph was entirely bedazzled with silver sequins and crystals and featured a corseted bodice overlay adorned with silver, crystal-embellished large 3D flowers. The actress, who famously styles herself, added barely-there silver heeled sandals and finished the look with silver diamond drop earrings and a selection of silver diamond rings.
The Blake Brown haircare founder styled her trademark long blonde hair in its signature touselled loose waves and swept-over side part, while the rest of her beauty look saw her opt for a shimmering bronze eye paired with a sunkissed glow and pink lip.
Maybe we're just longing for the spring weather, but we're officially declaring florals are back!
