While the thought of being dressed in a fitted suit on public transport this summer sends cold shivers down our spine (just think of the deodorant you'd go through!), Blake Lively has just proven that it is possible to keep your cool in smart tailoring all year round.

Last night, the A Simple Favour actress took to Instagram to post a picture of herself holding a Martini in celebration of the tipple’s national holiday.

‘Dear Nation, Happy Martini Day. Otherwise known as every f*#%ing day of the week to Emily,’ she captioned the post, in which she refers to her latest film’s character who goes missing.

In the snap, the mother-of-two looks almost unrecognisable with her beautiful blonde waves drawn tightly back into a low chignon.

Posing with a black cane and cocktail, the actress looks stunning in the two-piece white pin-stripe suit with a pocket watch and cream bralet.

In a picture posted to Instagram Stories, the 30-year-old rocked yet another 1920s-inspired suit, this time with a trilby hat.

Swapping her white ensemble for a black pinstripe oversized suit, white shirt and her hair loose in curls, Blake looked as if she’d stepped from the pages of a Raymond Chandler novel.

‘Have a little surprise for you,’ she captioned the post, which could either refer to the joys of a Martini or the star has something up her sleeve for her fans.

However, this isn’t the first time Lively has shown her love for smart tailoring. In April, she opted for a suit jacket at the Lionsgate Presentation at CinemaCon 2018.

For the event, she wore custom Sonia Rykiel navy blazer, dress shirt and multicoloured bow-tie, making it her most adorable outfit to date.

Lively is currently in Madrid filming her new film, The Rhythm Section, which was put on hold in December following her hand injury on set.The former Gossip Girl star is set to play a female spy in her upcoming film, which is being produced by the team behind James Bond.
