Your Birth Month's Color and Meaning, Explained
We've all heard of birthstones - precious and semi-precious gems that align with the twelve calendar months of the year. But did you know every birth month also corresponds with a specific color? This is called Colorstrology, where a mix of astrology and numerology is combined to distinguish a birth month's special color, which lends insight into a person's unique qualities and characteristics.
So, how does Colorstrology come into place in your daily life? Let's start with the first month of the year. If you were born in January, you may be drawn to the color caramel, which has a rich brown tone with golden accents. But it's so much more than a pretty color. In Colorstrology, caramel is the color equivalent of intelligence, maturity, and groundedness. While it's hard to feel like that all the time, you can add color to your surroundings (paint, accents, clothing) to help embrace your natural down-to-earth tendencies.
"The link between colors and all the mystical arts, such as Tarot, astrology, crystals, and even numerology and dream interpretation, is as ancient as time itself, and the meanings of colors are universal and innate," says Inbaal Honigman, a UK-based psychic. "Red means passion and war in every culture throughout history. White has meant peacefulness in every esoteric sense. Blue is linked with communication, the throat chakra, and the God Mercury, all different representations of the same concept.
The below birth colors were developed by astrologer and numerologist Michele Bernhardt, who matched each birth month with a Pantone color. And you can read more in her book Colorstrology: What Your Birthday Color Says about You. Read on to find out more about your birth color and what it means for you.
